How did he die? In 1521 he and his crew reached the Philippines. There they gave gifts from Spain to the Natives and were generally well received. But one king would not pay tax. He got into a fight with Magellans crew and Magellan himself was killed.
What/Where are the Straits of Magellan? The Straits of Magellan are located at the bottom of South America and are so named because Magellan Discovered them. They are the route he took to get to the Spice Islands and prove the world was round.
